Buckeye Balls

Gambar
I’ve always loved these peanut butter balls! I’m making them for a holiday cookie exchange! Peanut butter balls are a fun treat. I love the idea of dipping them into chocolate! I just love these classic peanut butter balls with the holiday decorations! Yummy and festive! The traditional way to do buckeye balls is to dip them in semisweet chocolate. I decided to mix things up a bit, and dipped half my balls in semisweet chocolate and the other half in white chocolate and holiday sprinkles. You can either use chocolate chips with shortening, or simply use candy melts, no shortening needed! These peanut butter balls don’t use an oven at all, they’re a no bake treat where the only energy usage is to heat the chocolate in the microwave for a minute or less! This recipe for buckeye balls is the classic peanut butter balls dipped in dark or white chocolate. A holiday treat that's both easy and energy efficient to make! Incredible. There are all kinds of fun ways to add a festive touch to your Oreo Cookie Balls. Homemade Gingerbread Loaf Recipe

Gambar
Just made the gingerbread – best ever ever – better than any Grandmother, etc. and served my pears poached in red wine – oh what fun!  I wound up dividing my batch between two 8″ x 4″ loaf pans and baked for 35 minutes, which seems to be perfect. This recipe is very moist and a wonderful consistency. I wound up doing a light dusting of powdered sugar as well as drizzling the icing over the top…I felt like the gingerbread needed a little extra kick of sweetness. Great recipe! It tastes as good as it looks! I will be adding it to my Christmas baking list. The spicy homemade Gingerbread Loaf made with ginger, cinnamon, allspice, cloves and molasses is such a lovely treat to enjoy with coffee or tea. Drizzle with a simple vanilla glaze for a festive treat that tastes just like the holidays. Get the full recipe and instructions here >> Homemade Gingerbread Loaf Recipe @ shewearsmanyhats.com

Gingerbread Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

Gambar
Moist and flavorful this Gingerbread Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce has all the delicious flavors of your traditional gingerbread with a sweet and creamy glaze. If you’ve never made bread pudding before, do not fear. It is simpler than you probably imagine. Usually using day old bread is recommended but I never do that. What I do do though is toast my bread in the oven for about 10 minutes to make it just the slightest bit crispy which helps the liquid from the milk and eggs absorb and give it the custardy texture. If you’re looking for a great option for your next brunch or holiday gathering this Gingerbread Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce would make a great choice for something comforting yet different enough to stand out! Bread pudding is spiced with delicious gingerbread flavors and baked until golden and glazed with a delicious vanilla sauce Get the full recipe and instructions here >> Gingerbread Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce @ tornadoughalli.com

Christmas Crack

Gambar
I have been making “Christmas Crack” for years. My family loves it and I’m not allowed to make it unless there’s a crowd coming over otherwise we will eat it all!  I have a few shortcuts I have mastered. One year I decided to see what would happen if I “cooked” the butter and sugar in the microwave with good success. I’ve been doing it that way ever since. It just requires a few minutes more baking in the oven. Also, I don’t pre-melt the chocolate any longer. I sprinkle a 12 ounce bag of semi sweet morsels on the top of the cooked crackers and leave them for a few minutes.  The heat from the crackers melts the chocolate and soon it’s easily spreadable. I then top it with chopped nuts; pecans, walnuts, almonds or a combination. I DO line the pan with foil and I cool the pan in the refrigerator or even the freezer and crack it when it is solid. The foil allows me to lift the entire pan of bark and break it more easily. Feel free to add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts or coconut flakes on top onc

Holiday Sugar Cookie Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

Gambar
Sugar cookies are such a classic holiday treat but sometimes around the holidays I'm so busy I don't even have time to bake cookies. Bars are faster and easier than cookies, there's no dough to chill, and no need to form individual cookies. Just press the dough into a pan and bake.  The bars are buttery soft in the middle with a bit of chewiness around the edges and have nice texture from the baked-in sprinkles. After baking I frosted the bars with cream cheese frosting and you can use storebought to save time. Sugar cookies in bar form with SPRINKLES baked in and on top!! So much faster than making cookies and a great holiday baking SHORTCUT!! Get the full recipe and instructions here >> Holiday Sugar Cookie Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting  @ averiecooks.com

Mint Chip Sugar Cookies

Gambar
I saw these and decided to give them a try for our cookie exchange at work. They came out awesome and so tasty.. I will be making these again. Made one batch green and the other red. They are so good! They taste like mint chocolate chip ice cream. I did not use liquid food coloring but the paste, and I barely used any. I have to admit I was afraid that the peppermint extract combined with the Andes would be too much mint (I am not a huge fan) but it was perfect. I have made extras to freeze. They looked very festive, and my family liked the taste and texture the sugar added. My 9 year old took one bite and said, “oh my gosh mom…we have to make these for Santa”. They were a HUGE hit!!! Decadent Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate

Gambar
This hot chocolate would be a great option when hosting Christmas parties – more often than boiling a kettle to begin, but less effort and fiddling with powder mix overall. Plus, it’d be pretty cool to say “Hot Chocolate’s brewing in my slow cooker.” You could even make it a base for a hot chocolate bar, and lay out tons of candies and decorations & let everyone go for it with their own.  I made this for our Ugly Sweater Party this weekend!!! It is the best Hot Chocolate I have ever had!!! This also would be a prefect treat for Christmas! This hot chocolate is made in the slow cooker. It’s mega creamy and so undeniably chocolate-y and rich that it should come with a warning label. It honestly tastes like pure melted chocolate with a creamy, frothy texture. Because guess what? It’s made with pure melted chocolate! HEAVENS YES. This decadent slow cooker hot chocolate is made in the crockpot. It's creamy and rich and couldn't be easier on a cold winter day! Mint Brownies with Chocolate Ganache

Gambar
I made these yesterday. They were delicious! Although I have to add, this was a TON of ganache. I could have probably cut it to 1/4 the amount! We’ll definitely make them again though. Delicious. Very rich. These are gorgeous. Chocolate and mint are perfect together especially in brownies! These brownies are a bit of work with three layers, but every layer is worth it. The sweetness of the fluffy mint buttercream is perfect against the smooth, richness of the ganache. If you have never made ganache before, I recommend doing a bit of reading from the internet with a few tips. It is simple in concept, but a bit of knowledge will help you make it awesome! A fudgy mint brownie spread with a fluffy, mint buttercream and a rich, smooth chocolate ganache. Christmas Desserts: Chocolate Covered Strawberry Christmas Tree

Gambar
I love this! It’s so unique and would be a total show stopper at a Christmas party.  My kids love chocolate covered strawberries, so this is a no brainer! The presentation is gorgeous! This is not only delicious, but such a cute party centerpiece.  Powdered sugar will break down your strawberries more quickly, so only dust them with sugar if serving immediately. I used a small sieve and “snowed” sugar over them from above until I was pleased with the look. This dessert will feed a crowd and is meant to be eaten within a day of making it. For best results, make it and serve it the same day.  Christmas desserts don’t have to be complicated! Impress your guests at your next Christmas party with this easy to make Chocolate Covered Strawberry Christmas Tree.
